living apart from a porcelain dagobar:
verses, one by one, a flight of moths, rooms of ebony, powder and perfume ...
dressed in silk, without fear of joy, light touch of hands,
your jasmine petals that tomorrow, fragile, scatter along the path.
suns at sea, khmer buddha or brahmin gong ...
vibrant souls, pennants, dancing flames, bitter sake ...
weeping guitars, and then, bizarre, in the atrium,
opium beds , like a rust-red velum filled with strange dreams.

capri, turn of the century. a french baron, the baron fersen. his palace, the villa lysis. opium interludes, lover’s despair, eroticism avant garde, poetry... one festive night in 1923, he raised to his lips a goblet of champagne laced with cocaine. his last breath drifted away on the breeze. a wave brought his azure melancholy back to me.
